Grows as a large shrub with multiple stems, developing an umbrella-shaped crown with age
Abundant flowering in April, blue-black edible berries from late summer onwards
Stunning autumn colours, ranging from yellow to orange to red
Quite undemanding in terms of soil, but heavy and waterlogged soils should be improved
Sunny to semi-shaded locations are advantageous
